Tully Blanchard speaks highly of FTR.
WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard joined AEW in 2019, and he signed on as Shawn Spears' "exclusive advisor." He later joined forces with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and helped the duo win the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW All Out 2020. After they formed The Pinnacle with MJF and Wardlow, FTR later fired Blanchard on March 9, 2022. He briefly became the manager of Tully Blanchard Enterprises before Prince Nana purchased the group at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022.
In an interview courtesy of Appalachian Championship Wrestling (via Wrestling Shoot Interviews), Tully Blanchard was asked about the abrupt end of his pairing with FTR.
"Obviously somebody didn’t like what I was doing, or lack of what I was doing," Blanchard said.
When asked to discuss FTR as a team, Blanchard said, "They are probably the best tag team right now. I would have a hard time saying best tag team of all time since Arn and I are already in that position [laughs]."
Blanchard noted that Hardwood and Wheeler work very well together, and they do "a lot of good stuff in the ring." Later in the interview, the legend was also asked to share his thoughts on the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
“The Young Bucks are very talented, and they would probably rival FTR," Blanchard said.
In January 2023, Blanchard confirmed his AEW departure and said his wrestling career was probably over.
