John Cena got his start in WWE by earning the respect of The Undertaker after showing ruthless aggression against Kurt Angle in his debut match.
Over 20 years later, Cena is set to embark on his retirement tour.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, Undertaker weighed in on Cena's final run.
"He’s on his way out, this is his goodbye tour. Putting him in marquee spots. He needs to get some wins because he hasn’t won in over 2000 days. He needs to get some key wins and the bigger key matches, he should probably pass the baton on. I think that’s his mindset as well. I don’t think, by any means, he wants to get his hand raised every time on the way out. That’s not John’s character. I think he wants to pay it forward and do the best with what he can do for the company. He knows he’s going to pay it forward," said Undertaker.
Cena is set to compete in the Elimination Chamber match at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Undertaker reacted to Hulk Hogan getting booed at WWE Raw on Netflix premiere. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
