The Undertaker Is Envious Of How Shawn Michaels Retired At WrestleMania 26 And Stayed Retired

The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels will forever be linked thanks to their battle at WrestleMania 26.

On that night in Arizona, The Undertaker defeated Michaels to effectively end the career of The Heartbreak Kid. The match was well-received by the majority of fans and looked to be a perfect ending to Michaels' storied career.

The perfect ending is something The Undertaker is still searching for as he wrestles with retirement.

"I'm so envious of Shawn because he was able to walk away and be...he was good with it. Do I wish I had that kind of clarity? Absolutely. He had the clarity before going into the match. Hopefully, when I have the match I'm looking for, I have that clarity. 'Okay, that's it,'"

Taker said earlier in the episode, "I'm looking for that one performance. That one match that brings me back to yesteryear. That story and all the athletic requirements to have a good match" and mentioned wanting the "John Elway moment" where he goes out on top of the sport much like Elway, who retired after winning back-to-back Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos

Of course, Michaels' retirement didn't last as he was pulled back into the ring at WWE Crown Jewel 2018. Michaels tagged with Triple H to pick up the victory over Kane and The Undertaker. During The Last Ride, Triple H called the bout a bad comedy match.

The Undertaker last wrestled at WrestleMania 36, defeating AJ Styles in a Graveyard match.
