Undertaker says he briefly thought about making a comeback and jokes that maybe there would have been one more match if Sting had not decided to retire first.
Undertaker vs. Sting is one of the only dream matches that has alluded modern wrestling fans outside of the theater of the mind.
Both men were briefly under the WWE umbrella for a time in 2015 but sadly, the legends never met face-to-face inside the squared circle.
During a recent Patreon exclusive Q&A, Undertaker remarked that on the way back from Australia he told his wife, former WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool, that he was considering making a comeback. He quickly said that he talked himself out of it.
In a joking manner, Undertaker said that while there may not be one more match, there could have been a sting did not decide to retire at AEW Revolution 2024.
"It's still tough for me. I'm still coming to grips with it. I may or may not have said to my wife recently that I was going to make a comeback. Fortunately, I think I've talked myself out of that," he said. "No, there's not one more match. I just got back from Australia. I was tired and I knew I had a lot of stuff coming up and that was me just feeling comfortable saying it.
"That's the only thing I do know. Don't expect it. There's not going to be one more match. Don't even start," he continued. "Well, I mean, if Sting hadn't retired, maybe. He ruined the whole thing. I got new knees and he went and had to go and retire... Oh my gosh, we're going to get so much heat for that."
