Undertaker got emotional watching Vince McMahon get emotional talking about his impact on the overall history of WWE.
The new Undertaker documentary, Undertaker: The Last Ride, has allowed a new look at the real human behind The Undertaker, Mark Calaway, but has also offered a look at how those that helped shape the character view the man and the creation all these years later.
One unique point of view fans are getting in this documentary is the point of view of Vince McMahon, the CEO of WWE. In one scene early on in the documentary, Vince McMahon calls for taping to stop as he becomes emotional when he is asked what the Undertaker means to the company.
Speaking with TV Insider, The Undertaker opened up about what it means for him to see that vulnerable side of Vince McMahon, a man that he is considered both a mentor and a friend for almost three decades.
“With Vince, our relationship has far exceeded the boss-employee relationship,” Undertaker began. “I still work for him, but he is a guy who is on the shortlist of those I consider dear friends. It was a little emotional for me to watch him not be able to put into words our relationship because he always has an answer for everything. To see him not able to answer the question, it was emotional for me to watch that. I’m not an overly emotional person, but it’s nice to know people have such strong feelings for you when you know how you feel about them. It was a strong moment seeing Vince like that for sure.”
The next episode of Undertaker: The Last Ride will be made available on-demand on WWE Network on Sunday, June 14.
