A dagger has been put in the heart of the Kofi Mania movement but Kevin Owens has returned.
To open tonight's edition of SmackDown Live, Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan were set to sign the contract to make their WWE Championship match at 'Fastlane' official. Daniel Bryan did sign his name on the contract but before Kofi had the chance to sign his, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon put the contract signing on hold and stated that he needs to provide the biggest match possible at 'Fastlane' and decided to remove Kofi from the fray and insert former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens.
It seems @VinceMcMahon has deemed @FightOwensFight MORE DESERVING than @TrueKofi of a #WWEChampionship match at #WWEFastlane?! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/itWITGKznm

Vince McMahon told Kofi Kingston that Kevin Owens is more deserving of the opportunity. Kevin Owens then sat across from the WWE Champion while Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi were left distraught.
Over the past several weeks, Kevin Owens has provided updates from various locations about his recovery process after undergoing double-knee surgery in October of 2018. After being out of action for five months, Kevin Owens is returning to a WWE Championship match that is now slated for 'Fastlane' on March 10th.
It was reported earlier this month that the current plan was for Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan to clash for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35 and for more on that report, head over to Fightful's published article about the topic.
