Vitor Belfort was a special guest this past Saturday at AEW Double or Nothing. Belfort was part of the audience for the event and the action, along with Mike Tyson, has inspired him to want to step in the ring himself.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Belfort said, “I think AEW should have Mike [Tyson] and myself do a tag team match against two of their champions. Tony [Khan], the owner of AEW is a good friend of mine. That for me is a great idea and I'm open to it. It will be the two youngest champions of combat sports against the two youngest champions of AEW."
Belfort was spotted working out with Tyson over the weekend. In an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Cody noted that Tyson was allowed to use the Jacksonville Jaguars facilities over the weekend to workout as he trains for a potential comeback.
"I think that (to fight again) is a decision Mike [Tyson] has made for himself. It takes a lot of courage to step back in the ring, especially at that age. I admire him for his bravery and wish him the best of luck,” said Belfort. "He needs to train smart, because what used to work for him before might not work for him now. This is new ground he's discovering for himself, and it's a wonderful journey.”
Tyson has yet to announce any plans to return to the boxing ring, but he will return to the wrestling ring Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.
