The Von Erichs Clarify That They Have Not Signed Anywhere Yet, Say 'Good News Is Coming'

The Von Erichs clear the air.

The Von Erichs (Marshall and Ross Von Erich) have made multiple appearances for AEW and ROH, and they are former MLW World Tag Team Champions. They recently sparked some buzz when, speaking on The Von Erichs podcast, Marshall said that he had a feeling they would sign somewhere soon. This has led to some rumors that they have already signed.

Speaking on The Von Erich Podcast, the brothers were asked about the situation, and Marshall confirmed that they have not signed anywhere yet.

"We haven’t signed pen to paper anything yet. But I would love to spill some beans and stuff right now, but good stuff is on the horizon. I know we’ve been saying that, but my brother and I, we always like to stay hopeful, no matter what," Marshall said.

After noting that he and Ross have worked in multiple businesses, he emphasized that they were passionate about wrestling. He stated that they wanted to honor their family by wrestling, and when they could announce anything, they would.

"Professional wrestling is where our hearts are, it’s where our passion’s at, and that’s why we made the jump to Texas. We wanted to give professional wrestling everything that we have to honor the family that were honored to be a part of. So yeah, as soon as we can announce, we’ll tell you guys. Good news is coming. It’s a good month to be a Von Erich," Marshall said.

Ross chimed in by expressing his gratitude for the fans' support, as he explained that wrestling can be discouraging sometimes. He stated that he felt like the time was now, and they were talking to some people.

"All the people that have sent us messages over the years, saying you guys deserve it and stuff, it’s really to prove you guys right because that’s so encouraging. It really helps us stay on the path. The business can get discouraging at times. You feel overlooked at times, and I just think now’s the time. Things are moving, we’re talking to people," Ross said.

Marshall replied by explaining how he has matured by keeping things to himself when ideas come up, as things fall through in the wrestling world. He detailed how he and Ross believe that they have a purpose, beyond wrestling itself, and they want to make the Von Erichs a household name.

“You put pressure on yourself, and it’s just from maturing and getting older, I realized, when things come up and there’s ideas and stuff, as I’m getting older, I keep the ideas to myself because it’s, something happens and you go and announce it, and wrestling is crazy. The wrestling world is crazy. Things fall through, and granddad had a couple sayings about it. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear or something [laughs]. For professional wrestling, you just don’t really know. Having my brother, we have each other, we’re constantly lifting each other up, building each other up, and ribbing on each other, of course, we’re brothers. But we’ve known that we had a purpose, something greater than just professional wrestling. It gets pretty deep, but my brother and I, we know what the destination is, and it’s the Von Erichs will be a household name, not to get famous or anything like that. It’s a duty bestowed on us from God, and so we know something’s coming. We want to be good role models, good men for kids. We want to show people, I’ll get some heat for it, but that Christians can be badasses too, that we’re rough around the edges. We're not your average church-going Christians. We’re real, we’re real men," Marshall said.

Later in the podcast, a comment from a viewer stated that they thought Marshall and Ross were with AEW. Marshall stated that they did some shows, but they have not signed with them. Marshall noted that they love AEW and Tony Khan.

"Yeah, we’ve been doing shows with them. We haven’t signed with them, or we’ll see in the future. We’ll see. But we love AEW, we love Tony [Khan]. We love everything about that company. Honestly for us, the more wrestling options the better. WWE, AEW, I hope a third company comes up. I think it’s good for professional wrestling," Marshall said.
