Wade Barrett Appears, Fills In For Booker T On Commentary At NXT Vengeance Day

Wade Barett filled in for Booker T at NXT Vengeance Day.

Ahead of NXT Vengeance Day on February 4, Booker T announced that he would miss the show, and a few weeks of NXT television, as he underwent a medical procedure.

Booker T's broadcast partner Vic Joseph kicked off NXT Vengeance Day, and he was joined by Wade Barrett on commentary. Barrett quickly sparked some buzz by borrowing from Booker T and getting hyped up during Trick Williams' entrance.

Barrett previously joined the NXT commentary team in August 2020. He then signed with WWE and regularly called the action for the brand. Barrett moved to SmackDown in October 2022. He later shifted over to Raw in August 2023, and he returned to SmackDown on February 2, 2023.

As of this writing, it is not known whether Barrett will continue to fill in for Booker T during his absence.

Corey Brennan of Fightful Select previously reported that Barrett would be on commentary for NXT Vengeance Day.
