Wade Barrett Talks About Taking Time Away From The Ring, Says He'll Be Back Soon

Former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett spoke to Hannibal TV at WrestleCon last week, and commenting on where he’s been since leaving the company. Barrett said he was unhappy with his position in WWE, and was perhaps a little jaded, so he wanted to take a break from wrestling.

“I decided to take a year off. I was pretty unhappy with WWE when I left there, so I wanted a little bit of a break from the business," Barrett said. "So I’ve been doing some acting, some appearances, some other stuff, some travel, and generally enjoying myself.”

But don't be fooled into thinking he's done entirely, and in fact he could be returning to an independent promotion in his native England.  “I needed to take some time away, I wanted to leave it until I actually missed the business, until I came back and I feel like the past few months I’ve really been missing it, so I’ve been speaking to some people in The UK. You’ve got WCPW, I’m doing a lot of talk with them over in April, and we’ll see where it goes from there.”

Barrett was last seen in WWE being jumped out of The League of Nations by his stable-mates Sheamus, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio in mid-2016.
