Warner Bros Discovery Claims 'CM Punk Is Not Affiliated With TNT's AEW Collision' After Headline Edit

On the morning of May 17, AEW and Warner Brothers Discovery announced AEW Collision will be coming to TNT on Saturday, June 17.

In the press release, Thunder Rosa, Miro, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Andrade El Idolo were listed as the headliners. The promotional material featured photos of AEW Champion MJF, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, AEW Tag Team Champions FTW (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler), and AEW Trios Champions House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, & Brody King).

Despite rumors and reports of CM Punk's return being part of the debut episode, Punk was not listed in the promotional material.

However, a cached version of the press release online originally listed CM Punk as one of the headliners. Jimmy Traina first caught the edit.

In a statement to ComicBook, WBD said, "CM Punk is not affiliated with TNT's AEW Collision."

As of now, CM Punk's return to AEW has not been confirmed. He has not appeared on AEW programming since winning the AEW World Title at AEW All Out 2022. He was subsequently suspended for his role in the post-show altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson).

Tony Khan said there will be more info on AEW Collision during Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
