With the win, he advanced to the next round of the tournament, which will be held at NJPW Dominion on June 4. There, he will face Lance Archer, and the winner will earn a shot at Omega's title. As of this writing, the date for the title match has not been announced.

Archer defeated Fred Rosser at NJPW Capital Collision to advance to the finals. He had been scheduled to face Juice Robinson, but Rosser took his place because Robinson was suspended for his actions at NJPW Capital Collision.

Omega won the title by defeating Ospreay at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. He most recently defended the title against Jeff Cobb on the March 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.
