After years of trash talk on social media and in interview, Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega finally clashed in a trios bout on the August 31 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Omega, teaming with the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) was victorious in the bout over Ospreay, who was teaming with Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis). After the bout, and after Dynamite went off the air, United Empire laid out The Elite, giving Ospreay the last laugh.
Speaking to James Carlin of Monthly Puroreso, Ospreay commented on a potential one on one bout with Omega down the line.
"He knows one on one it would be a fantastic bout and I can’t tell you enough how much I’d enjoy battering him after everything. The two sides of me are saying: I got the last laugh leaving him and The Young Bucks laying in AEW, so I don’t really care. But the other side says we are both still able to put on those amazing matches still. It’ll almost be stupid of me not to want to face him. See which one of us has the drive to pick up the win," said Ospreay.
After the match, Ospreay said his time with AEW was finished for the foreseeable future.
Omega is currently suspended from AEW for his role in the AEW All Out altercation between CM Punk, Ace Steel, the Young Bucks, and himself. He is in Japan for Tokyo Game Show and reunited with Kota Ibushi.
