The stakes are elevated for the WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments.
Triple H announced during an appearance at WWE Experience in Saudi Arabia that the winners of the WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments will receive World Championship opportunities at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland.
Triple H has stated that the winners will face the respective champions of their brand, so there is no decision-making process afforded to the winner such as the Royal Rumble winner.

The winner of the WWE King of the Ring tournament challenged the WWE Champion in 1994 and 1995 respectively. In 1994, Owen Hart challenged his brother Bret Hart inside a steel cage for the championship. In 1995, Mabel took on Diesel in Pittsburgh.
However, it was only in 2002 that the stipulation was put on a tournament that the champion would face the winner of the King of the Ring.
That year, Brock Lesnar cemented his dominant rookie year by winning the tournament and defeating The Rock to become the Undisputed WWE Champion at WWE SummerSlam.
The 2024 King of the Ring final will see Gunther representing WWE Raw against either Randy Orton or Tama Tonga of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
The Queen of the Ring final will see Raw's Lyra Valkyria facing either Bianca Belair or Nia Jax.
The SmackDown finalists will be determined on the May 24 episode of WWE SmackDown which will emanate for the first time from Saudi Arabia.
