WWE Announces Date For Hell In A Cell 2021, MITB Reportedly Scheduled With Fans

WWE has announced its next monthly event.

During WrestleMania Backlash, it was revealed that Hell in a Cell would be taking place on Sunday, June 20, 2021. This marks a change in WWE's usual schedule as it would generally take place during the month of October. In years past, generally speaking, the months of May and June had been reserved for Backlash and Money in the Bank.

Andrew Zarian of the MatMen Podcast and Wrestling Observer is reporting that Money in the Bank is slated to take place in July with fans in attendance. Fightful had previously reported a July 18 PPV date.

At last year's Hell in a Cell event, Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso in an I Quit match. He did so by attacking Jey's brother, Jimmy, who was out injured at the time. Jey made the decision to save his brother by quitting and losing the Championship match. Jey has been serving as Reigns' right-hand man in the time since. Jimmy just returned to SmackDown two weeks ago and has butted heads with The Tribal Chief, refusing to acknowledge him and questioning his treatment of Jey, who he believes to be doing all of Roman's dirty work.
