WWE is working on a different kind of TV series.
Wall Street Journal reports that WWE is working on two scripted TV series.
The first, "Contra Las Cuerdas,” is a Spanish- language comedy about an aspiring female wrestler in Mexico. The series will debut on Netflix in Mexico.
The second, “Pinned,” a “Succession”-like drama about a fictional family that runs a wrestling company, will be available through Comcast Corp.’s NBCUniversal, but it is undecided which network or platform the series will air.
Colin Campbell, WWE’s vice president of development, said the company expects the shows to help it reach new audiences and expand its relationships with media companies.
Along with the two scripted series, WWE is also making "The United States vs. Vince McMahon" about the 1994 steroid trials, which you can learn more about by clicking here.
The company is also producing a Vince McMahon docu-series, which will debut on Netflix in 2023.
