WWE Issues Statement On Abuse Allegations Surrounding Jordan Devlin

WWE has issued a statement in response to abuse allegations surrounding NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin.

Earlier today, a woman named Hannah accused Devlin of abuse, tweeting pictures showing bruises on her body alleging that it was Devlin who did this to her. In one of her tweets talking about Devlin, Hannah said "This is scary. I'm really scared. Jordan Devlin did this to me. And this is just the physical damage."

WWE then issued a short statement to Forbes' Alfred Konuwa, saying the company is aware of the allegations. Below is the statement:

“We take any allegation of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter.”

Devlin has not appeared on WWE television in months as he is in the United Kingdom unable to travel to the United States and NXT UK is not taping any new shows. Devlin won the cruiserweight title in January, but an interim champion was crowned recently in Santos Escobar with Escobar being called the NXT Cruiserweight Champion in past weeks.
