A special tribute to Gene Okerlund set for Monday.
The wrestling world was taken aback when the news made the rounds that WWE Hall Of Famer and legendary interviewer "Mean" Gene Okerlund passed away at the age of 76-years old on January 2nd. This past Monday on RAW Gene was honored by friend and fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan. Following up on that, WWE has put together a special about the career of Gene Okerlund that will air on the WWE Network following this upcoming Monday's RAW at 11 PM EST. Below is the synopsis for the special:
WWE Superstars and Legends celebrate the life and legacy of one of sports entertainment’s most beloved personalities, ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund.
The WWE Network special is entitled 'Let Me Tell You Something Gene' and as mentioned in the synopsis, those who had the pleasure of knowing and meeting Gene will share their respective thoughts on him as a co-worker and/or as a friend.
