NXT invades TNA on July 4.
The opening match of the July 4 episode of TNA iMPACT! featured a spontaneous interruption by WWE NXT Superstar Charlie Dempsey. Leon Slater was wrestling Trey Miguel when Dempsey came down to attack both men and even threw the referee around.
Dempsey would lock Slater in the Regal Stretch before more officials would show up and try to get him to leave the ring, which he eventually would do on his own accord. After this assault, Zachary Wentz, formerly known as WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Nash Carter, would challenge Dempsey to a match for the July 11 episode.
