WWE has released Santana Garrett, as revealed by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp.
As first reported by Fightful Select, WWE has released Santana Garrett as of Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
Fightful Select reported the following:
Santana Garrett's release did not come as a surprise to many within the company, as she'd been called up nearly a year before and almost never used. There were several creative plans pitched for her, and a trio with Chelsea Green and Vanessa Borne nearly happened before it was nixed. We'd heard that she hadn't been around Smackdown backstage much since she and Chelsea Green took it upon themselves to pop up backstage months ago. We've not heard of any significant, firm plans creatively that were ever set for her, though that doesn't mean there weren't any.
Garrett was part of the 2017 Mae Young Classic, losing in the first round to Piper Niven. She was signed by WWE in August 2019 and made her NXT debut in September 2019 at a live event, with her NXT TV debut coming in November 2019.
Garrett was reportedly called up to the main roster in August 2020 but never made a full-time debut. She did take part in the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble, which is her last WWE television appearance, entering at number 12 and lasting under five minutes.
In April, Fightful Select reported creative plans had called for Chelsea Green, Vanessa Borne, and Santana Garrett to portray a "Pussycat Dolls meets Charlie's Angels" group.
Green was released in April while Borne was released in May.
Garrett posted the following message on social media:
