WWE Says Cody Rhodes Suffered A Broken Arm On 5/22 WWE Raw

According to WWE, Cody Rhodes is dealing with a broken arm.

On the May 22 episode of WWE Raw, Brock Lesnar attacked Rhodes backstage and smashed his arm with a metal canister. Later in the show, Lesnar gained the upper hand during a brief brawl with Rhodes, locked him in the Kimura, and seemingly snapped his arm. At the end of the night, Triple H tried to discourage Rhodes from competing in his scheduled match with Lesnar at WWE Night of Champions, but "The American Nightmare" insisted that he wanted to fight the former world champion.

During the WWE Night of Champions media event, Byron Saxton and Michael Cole said that Rhodes' broken arm had been confirmed. Rhodes appeared at the media event, and his arm was in a sling. He commented on his match with Lesnar, but he did not address the injury. Triple H was then asked about the decision to let Rhodes compete with a broken arm, and he noted that both competitors wanted to fight.

“You’re right, Cody does have a broken arm, obviously. Not the best situation in the world. I don’t know if it’s the smartest decision in the world. But here’s the thing. Brock Lesnar wants to fight. Cody Rhodes wants to fight. Do you want to see them fight? [Crowd cheers] Then tomorrow, in this dome, they are going to fight," Triple H said.
