Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with the entrance of the Universal champion Roman Reigns, and Paul Heyman before Roman gets on the mic and addresses Brock Lesnar's suspension and the Usos losing to New Day last week before Roman asks Jimmy how they're going to fix the problem. Jimmy says that he's going to kick the crown off of Xavier's head and make him acknowledge Roman before they're interrupted by New Day before the two sides exchange words and agree to a match between King Woods and Jimmy.
Naomi vs Shayna Baszler
Naomi drops Shayna before Shayna hits a release German before Naomi sends Shayna out of the ring and into the apron before tossing her back inside and hitting a diving cross body for two before Shayna hits a gut wrench suplex onto the floor as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Naomi making her comeback as she hits a variation of a piledriver before getting two off of a sunset flip and Shayna locks in a sleeper before Naomi gets to the ropes, but Shayna won't break the hold before Naomi counters the sleeper into a clutch for the pin and the win before Sonya comes out and restarts the match. As soon as the match is restarted Shayna locks in the Kirifuda Clutch for the tap and the win.
Winner: Shayna Baszler defeats Naomi via submission.
- Backstage Roman talks with The Bloodline about how everything fell apart when he took last week off before the Usos leave as we go to commercial.
- We get a video package for the soon to debut Xia Li.
- We go backstage to an interview with new roster member Ridge Holland where he talks about how he learned a lot from watching Sheamus before leaving.
- We get a backstage interview with Shotzi who says that she's had enough and lost everything since joining the blue brand before saying that she's making a target out of Sasha and anyone else who gets in her way and that she doesn't need a tank to do it.
Los Lotharios vs Cesaro & Mansoor
Mansoor and Humberto start the match off with Humberto controlling Mansoor on the mat and grounding the high-flyer before LL double up on Mansoor for two before Mansoor gets the hot tag to Cesaro who clotheslines Humberto repeatedly and hits running uppercuts. Cesaro hits Humberto with a discus clothesline before taking out Angel at ringside before Angel and Humberto attacks Cesaro for a near fall that Mansoor breaks up before Cesaro saves Mansoor and Humberto superkicks Cesaro and sends him into Mansoor. Mansoor then flies out of the ring before Humberto hits a springboard roundhouse and LL hit a low dropkick with a Muta lock applied for the pin and the win.
Winner: Los Lotharios defeat Cesaro and Mansoor via pinfall.
- Backstage Jeff Hardy and Aliyah run into Sami Zayn before Sami runs off after telling them a conspiracy theory as we go to commercial.
Drew McIntyre vs Ricochet
Drew drives Ricochet into the corner beating him down and hitting an overhead belly to belly suplex before Ricochet low bridges Drew and kicks him from ringside before Drew catches him and back drops him onto the edge of the apron. Drew tosses Ricochet back into the ring and hits another overhead belly to belly before Ricochet dropkicks Drew out of the air and exchanges strikes with Drew before hitting a springboard cross body into a standing shooting star press. Drew then suplexes Ricochet for two before Ricochet gets a near fall off of a clutch and superkicks Drew repeatedly before Drew hits a Claymore when Ricochet is upside down in mid-air for the pin and the win.
Winner: Drew McIntyre defeats Ricochet via pinfall.
- Backstage New Day are interviewed ahead of Woods facing Jimmy later tonight in our main event.
- We get tonight's edition of Happy Talk with special guests Viking Raiders before VR get angry and clear the ring to set up a tag match.
- Backstage Mustafa Ali gives Ricochet unsolicited advice and tries to get him to align with him before Ricochet rejects him and leaves.
Viking Raiders vs Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss
Moss and Erik start the match off before Happy comes in and Moss knocks Ivar off of the apron before Happy hits a Deep Six for a deep two count before Erik fights off Moss and Corbin and gets the hot tag to Ivar who sends Corbin out of the ring. Ivar drops Moss before Erik comes back in and uses Ivar as a weapon before hitting a powerbomb and Corbin drags Moss out of the ring before Ivar can dive off of onto him and get counted out for the win.
Winner: Viking Raiders defeat Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss via count out.
- Sami Zayn comes out onto the stage before Hit Row show up and mock him before they surround him and Sami leaves.
Jimmy Uso (w/ Jey Uso) vs King Woods (w/ Kofi Kingston)
The two start the match off with Woods immediately rolling Jimmy up for two before they run the ropes and counter each other's attempts at a hip toss before Woods hits a side Russian leg sweep into a basement dropkick for one. Jimmy rolls out of the ring and regroups with Jey at ringside before Jimmy rocks Woods with a right hand and drags his face across the top rope before smashing his face into the top turnbuckle and Woods dropkicks Jimmy out of the air for two. Jimmy then drops Woods face first across the top turnbuckle and slides him out of the ring and onto the floor as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Jimmy in control before Woods comes back with strikes and hangs Jimmy on the top rope before hitting a running boot and a wrecking ball dropkick before tossing Jimmy back inside and going up top and hitting a high angle leg drop for two. Jimmy hits an avalanche Samoan drop for a near fall before Jimmy goes for a splash and Woods gets his knees up before turning it into a pin attempt for a near fall before the referee catches Jey when he's helping Jimmy pin Woods. Woods then pins Jimmy with a roll up with the tights for the pin and the win.
Winner: King Woods defeats Jimmy Uso via pinfall.
- After the match Jimmy goes to bend the knee to Woods before Woods is laid out by Roman with a Superman punch out of nowhere before the Usos attack and lay out Kofi before the Usos hit Woods with a double superkick and Roman spears Kofi. We then go off the air with the Usos injuring the leg of Kofi while Roman makes Woods watch before Roman and the Bloodline stand tall over the fallen king.
