Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with the entrance of the Universal champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and Jey Uso to celebrate Roman defending his title against Daniel Bryan this past weekend at the Elimination Chamber. Roman talks about defending his title against the winner of the Smackdown Men's Elimination Chamber match and how badly he destroyed Daniel Bryan in his emphatic victory. Roman talks about how Edge attacked him after his title defense and chose him for Wrestlemania before saying that Edge doesn't stand a chance against him and he should just go home. Daniel Bryan interrupts Roman and gets into the ring before mocking him and calling Roman a coward for defending his title immediately after the Elimination Chamber match. Daniel says that Roman isn't a real champion at all before saying that he expected Roman to have defended his title in the main event.
Daniel says that he's known how good Roman is since his debut match against him before challenging Roman to a rematch at Fastlane. Jey gets in Daniel's face and tells him he'll have to go through him before getting a second shot at Roman before Jey attacks him and tosses Daniel out of the ring and over the barricade.
- Backstage Edge interrupts Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville in his office and says that they need to talk as we go to commercial.
- We come back from the break to Roman telling Jey to get the job done and handle Daniel.
- In Adam's office Adam tells Edge that Daniel will get a title match at Fastlane if he beats Jey Uso tonight.
Alpha Academy vs The Mysterios
Rey and Otis start the match off with Otis running over Rey before throwing him across the ring and hitting a running shoulder tackle in the corner. Chad comes in and hits a military press into a gut buster before Rey hits an enzuigiri and tags in Dom who drops Chad repeatedly. Dom hits a diving tornado DDT for two before Rey gets the hot tag and hits a frog splash for a near fall that Otis breaks up. Otis then hits a front slam into diving splash off of the second rope for the pin and the win.
Winner: Alpha Academy defeat The Mysterios via pinfall.
- The match between Daniel and Jey is made official with a graphic before we're told that we'll get an update on the condition of Big E up next as we go to commercial.
- We come back to a recap of Apollo Crews' attack on Big E last week before we go to Apollo in the ring where he explains why he did what he did. Apollo says that no one knows anything about him and that he's gotten no respect before talking about how he's Nigerian royalty. Apollo is interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura who he also attacked last week and cost him his match against E before Apollo attacks him from behind. Apollo then goes to hit Shinsuke with the steps before the referee stops him as we go to commercial.
Apollo Crews vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Apollo clotheslines Shin and whips him into the corner before hitting a float over suplex for two before locking in a rear chin lock and Shin elbows his way free. Apollo hits a German suplex that turns Shin inside out before Shin hits a leg lariat and several kicks into a sliding knee for two. Apollo hits several Germans before Shin hits a sliding German for two before Apollo rolls out of the ring and drives Shin into the steps. Apollo then tosses Shin back inside and hits an enzuigiri into an Olympic slam for the pin and the win.
Winner: Apollo Crews defeats Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall.
- Backstage Paul informs Roman that if Daniel wins tonight he'll get a shot at his belt and the tag team match will be replaced.
Liv Morgan vs Tamina
Tamina drops Liv with a boot before smashing her face into the middle turnbuckle and tossing her across the ring before hitting a running hip attack in the corner for two. Tamina hits a float over suplex for two before Liv hits an enzuigiri into a shotgun dropkick and a missile dropkick for two. Tamina then hits a Samoan drop into a Black Hole Slam for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tamina defeats Liv Morgan via pinfall.
- We go to the ring to Adam and Sonya in the ring where they introduce Bianca Belair who will make her decision on who she will face at Wrestlemania. Right before Bianca makes her choice she's interrupted by Reginald who comes out to the ring and says that if she challenges Sasha she will lose. Right before Bianca goes to whip Reginald with her hair she's interrupted by Smackdown Women's champion Sasha Banks. Sasha tells Bianca to pick her because she is number one and the best and that Bianca is second best before Bianca says that she's going to make Sasha eat her words.
The Street Profits vs Sami Zayn & Baron Corbin
Sami and Montez start the match off before Angelo and Corbin come in and Angelo locks in a standing side headlock before Corbin drops him with a shoulder block. Angelo then dropkicks Corbin before Corbin is distracted by Sami's film crew and SP clear the ring as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Sami choking Ford in the ropes before Ford rocks Corbin with an enzuigiri and gets the hot tag to Angelo who drops Sami repeatedly. Angelo hits a bulldog for two before dropkicking Corbin and dumping him out of the ring Sami gets two and Corbin attacks Sami's film crew. Back in the ring Angelo hits a twisting neckbreaker into a diving splash by Ford for the pin and the win.
Winner: The Street Profits defeat Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin via pinfall.
- Backstage Daniel Bryan is interviewed ahead of his match against Jey in our main event before Edge gives him a pep talk.
- Seth Rollins then makes his way out to the ring to address the WWE Universe as we go to commercial.
- Seth is in the ring before he's interrupted by Cesaro who he manages to stop from attacking him before trying to get Cesaro to join him. Cesaro then turns Seth down and swings him before leaving as Daniel comes out to the ring for his match as we go to commercial.
Daniel Bryan vs Jey Uso
The two brawl before Jey drops Daniel and Daniel hits a hip toss before focusing on the arm of Jey until he hits a flying clothesline. Daniel hits a running dropkick in the corner into Yes Kicks before setting Jey on the second rope and hitting a frankensteiner for two. Jey then kicks Daniel when he goes for a suicide dive before dropping him across the announce table and post as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Jey now in control of Daniel, focusing on his bad knee before missing a diving splash and Daniel sends Jey over the top rope and down onto the floor. Back in the ring Jey sends Daniel into the post and chop blocks him before locking in a half crab before Daniel drops him with a buzzsaw kick for two. Daniel gets speared before Jey hits a superkick for a near fall before going up top and DB knocks him off before hitting a butterfly superplex. Jey then scrambles to the ropes when Daniel goes for the Yes Lock before Jey whips Daniel into the steps and the two are counted out.
Winner: No Contest due to double count out.
- Roman comes out after the match and attacks Daniel when he goes to put Jey in the Yes Lock before attempting to do it to Roman and getting superkicked by Jey. Roman then spears Daniel and chokes him unconscious as we go off the air.
