This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live. Tonight we have a great show as in our main event Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin square off to determine who will be added to the WWE Championship match at WWE Fastlane, Charlotte continues her quest to take out the Riott Squad when she faces Sarah Logan and much more so be sure to come back here at 8 PM EST for all of the action!
-Dolph Ziggler comes out to start the show to presumably get ready for his match as we hear Baron Corbin's music, but he never comes out for his match, then we cut backstage to Kevin and Sami attacking Baron and beating him down. Kevin and Sami come to the ring and take out Dolph next before leaving as we go to commercial.
Charlotte vs Sarah Logan
Sarah backs Charlotte into the corner to start the match before they grapple with Sarah keeping Charlotte grounded until she comes back and sends Sarah out of the ring as we go to commercial.
Charlotte is in control as we come back from commercial, chopping Sarah repeatedly before Sarah knocks her down from behind and gets a quick two count. Sarah puts Charlotte in a submission that she fights out of before Charlotte comes back with a jumping knee, then Sarah beats Charlotte down and puts her in a straight armbar. Sarah clotheslines Charlotte for another quick two count before Sarah hits a t-bone suplex for a near fall before Charlotte hits a flat liner into the top turnbuckle before hitting Bow Down to the Queen for the pin and the win.
Winner: Charlotte defeats Sarah Logan via pinfall with Bow Down to the Queen
Baron Corbin vs Kevin Owens
Corbin attacks Kevin as soon as the match starts and backs him into the corner until the referee makes him back off. Kevin gets out of the ring to regroup, but Baron goes out after him and beats him down at ringside before rolling him back into the ring. They get back in the ring and Kevin retakes control and hits a cannonball in the corner for a quick two count as we go to commercial.
Corbin goes shoulder first into the ring steps before Kevin rolls him back into the ring and gets a near fall before putting him in a side headlock that he fights out of. Corbin hits a chokebreaker and a series of right hands and clotheslines before turning Kevin inside out with a lariat for a near fall. Kevin then hits a superkick before Baron counters the pop-up powerbomb into the End of Days for the pin and the win.
Winner: Baron Corbin defeats Kevin Owens via pinfall with the End of Days to gain entrance into the WWE Championship match at WWE Fastlane.
-Bobby Roode comes out and issues an open challenge for his WWE United States Championship and Randy Orton answers before he's interrupted by Jinder Mahal who lists off multiple reasons why he deserves a title shot and not Randy. Randy says that he doesn't care about a top ten list before Jinder insults him repeatedly and says that Bobby wants to be the next legend killer. Bobby says that Jinder didn't even make the top ten and no one respects him before saying that he respects Randy Orton and that he may be number nine because everyone is sick of the sneak attacks before Randy takes out the one Singh brother and Jinder hits the Khallas to both Randy and Bobby as we go to commercial.
-New Day cone out to the ring and talk about Mardi Gras and call it Fat Tuesday before saying that it is pancake Tuesday and that Big-E will eat hundreds of pancakes in 8 minutes. E ends up eating a handful before Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin come out to the ramp and make fun of them and their pancake obsession, saying that they should leave the tag team division to them. Shelton tosses pancakes onto the mat before sending a bunch of the pancakes onto the mat and that they prefer waffles before the two sides square off as we go to commercial.
Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin vs New Day
The match starts during the commercial before we come back from commercial to Chad and Shelton double teaming Kofi for a quick two count. Chad hits a rolling kick for a quick two count before Kofi sends Chad out of the ring, but Shelton pulls Big-E off of the apron when Kofi goes to tag him in. E finally comes in and hits a series of suplexes before playing to the crowd and hitting a huge splash, then Chad counters the Big Ending into a rolling German suplex. Chad then tries to tag Shelton in, but the referee doesn't see it and New Day hit Midnight Hour for the pin and the win.
Winner: New Day defeat Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin via pinfall with Midnight Hour
-The Usos cut a promo backstage before the screen is broken by the Bludgeon Brothers. We then have Sami and Kevin talking backstage before Sami comes out to the ring for his match.
Sami Zayn vs Dolph Ziggler
Dolph attacks Sami repeatedly, the referee making him back away each time, then Dolph puts Sami in a front choke that he gets out of by getting to the ropes for the break. Dolph hits a neckbreaker for a quick two count before Sami gets out of the ring to regroup and catch him breath before getting back in the ring and beating Dolph down. Dolph then dropkicks Sami when he comes off of the top and sends him out as we go to commercial.
Sami is in control as we come back from commercial until Dolph hits a DDT as we see Kevin looking on backstage before Dolph hits a Famouser for a near fall. Sami catches Dolph on the top turnbuckle before hitting a superplex, but Sami can't make the cover, then Sami sends Dolph face first into the top turnbuckle. Sami misses the Helluva Kick before Dolph hits the Zigzag for a near fall, then Sami counters a superkick and sends Dolph shoulder first into the ring post repeatedly. Sami then goes for an exploder suplex before Dolph gets a near fall, then Sami hits an exploder suplex into the corner and goes for the Helluva Kick, but Dolph superkicks him when he runs in for the pin and the win.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler defeats Sami Zayn via pinfall with a superkick to gain entrance into the WWE Championship match at WWE Fastlane.
