WWE Smackdown! Live Results 8/8 Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal, Naomi vs Carmella & More!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live. We are just two weeks away from WWE Summerslam where Jinder Mahal will defend his WWE World Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, but tonight Jinder will have to face Randy Orton one more time. We also have Shane McMahon explaining the United States Championship Match and much more so be sure to come back here at 8 PM EST for all of the action!

-We open the show with John Cena talking about his match with Shinsuke Nakamura last week, putting him over and saying that he learned real quick that Shinsuke is fearless. John then talks about how tough Nakamura is before Baron Corbin comes out to the ramp. Cena gets the crowd on his side before Corbin teases going to ring. Corbin then starts to leave before Daniel Bryan comes out and makes a match between Cena and Corbin for Summerslam as we go to commercial.

The Usos vs Sami Zayn & Tye Dillinger

Tye and Jimmy start the match off with Tye hitting a series of right hands in the corner before tagging in Sami who teases the Helluva Kick early, but Jey pulls Jimmy out of the ring at the last second to save him as we go to commercial.

Sami tags Tye in as we come back from commercial, dropping him with a flurry of offense before stomping on him in the corner repeatedly. Sami then hits a flipping senton over the top rope before tossing Jey back into the ring. Jey catches Tye on the top rope before Jimmy gets a blind tag. The Usos then use their move that injured Chad Gable before putting Tye in a submission for the tap and the win.

Winner: The Usos via submission

-After the match New Day attack The Usos from behind out of nowhere, then go to kill Jimmy with a chair before Jey pulls him out of the ring to save him as we go to commercial.

-We have an interview segment with Randy Orton backstage about his grudge match with Jinder tonight where Randy says that Jinder won't have the Singh brothers to help him tonight. Next week have a Fashion Police segment where Tyler is still trying to find Fandango while talking to the Ascension as they share a tray of doughnuts. Fandango then appears behind him and says that he escaped the aliens before Arn Anderson comes in and takes some doughnuts before leaving.

Charlotte vs Lana

Charlotte is in control for the entire match, showing off her strength and muscling Lana around the ring with ease before Charlotte gets a quick two count off of a back slide. Charlotte then mocks Lana before Lana slaps her, Lana then getting a boot for her troubles. Charlotte then follows up with the Figure Eight for the tap and the win.

Winner: Charlotte via submission

-Shane McMahon comes out to the ring and talks about his being the special guest referee for the United States Championship match at Summerslam. Shane has Kevin come out to the ring first, then has AJ come out after. The two argue before Shane separates them, Shane saying that he wanted to clear the air. Kevin says that he has to worry about another Canadian Screw Job before showing how AJ had previously attacked Shane before Wrestlemania. AJ says that he wasn't happy that Shane became the referee before saying that if Shane screws him that there will be repercussions.

AJ then says that he doesn't trust anyone Kevin shows another clip of Shane, this time him screwing over Stone Cold in 1998. Shane then says that he will be impartial and won't get involved unless he has to. AJ says that they should do it right now and get rid of Shane, but Kevin but Kevin declines. Kevin then cheap shots AJ, AJ trying to hit Kevin, but he gets out of the ring and AJ hits a Pele kick to Shane as Kevin leaves laughing as we go to commercial.

-Lana and Tamina talk backstage before Carmella comes out to the ring for her match against Naomi.

Naomi vs Carmella

They lock up to start the match before Carmella stumbles Naomi with a knee. Naomi then dropkicks Carmella before slapping her and sending her out of the ring as we go to commercial.

Carmella is in control as we come back from commercial, keeping Naomi grounded with a headlock until she fights out of it. Naomi hits an enzuigiri before dropping her repeatedly band following up with a series of kicks and knees. Naomi then gets caught on the top rope, but she shoves her off repeatedly. James then knocks her off of the top rope when she distracts the referee before Carmella hits a superkick for the pin and the win.

Winner: Carmella via pinfall

-We get an interview segment with Shinsuke Nakamura where he talks about beating John Cena to become the number one contender for Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship at Summerslam.

Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton

They start the match off by exchanging right hands before Randy hits Thesz Press and rains down blows into Jinder before sending him out of the ring. Randy then stalks Jinder before back dropping him onto the barricade and the announce table. Randy then gets launched off of the announce table and into the crowd as we go to commercial.

Jinder is in control as we come back from commercial until Randy fights out of a headlock. Randy then side steps him and Jinder goes shoulder first into the ring post as Shinsuke looks on from a television backstage. Randy then hits a superplex for a near fall before hitting a fall away slam and a series of punches in the corner. Randy catches Jinder coming off of the ropes and hits a powerslam for another near fall before Jinder drops him with a jumping knee for a near fall of his own. Randy then hits a draping DDT before teasing an RKO, but Jinder counters and goes for the Khallas only for Randy to hit an RKO for the pin and the win.

Winner: Randy Orton via pinfall
