WWE Title Match Set For Extreme Rules 2021

Randy Orton has a chance to pick up yet another WWE World Championship.

At this point, only Ric Flair and John Cena have more World Championship reigns than “The Viper” Randy Orton. Now, after challenging Bobby Lashley to a match and Lashley, through MVP, agreed to hold the match at WWE Extreme Rules.

Lashley and Randy Orton were not even supposed to come into contact with one another before the plans for last week's episode of Monday Night Raw were shifted and Lashley went from facing Sheamus in a singles match to challenging for the Raw Tag Team Championship alongside MVP. That match would come to an end when Randy Orton RKO’d the WWE Champion, making the Grand Slam Champion feel as though he is entitled to a championship match at this year's Extreme Rules event.

Randy Orton and Bobby Lashley have rarely faced each other in singles competition, both got their start in WWE over a decade ago with Randy Orton being part of the famous 2002 OVW class and Bobby Lashley coming to WWE programming 3 years later in 2005.
