WWE Universal Championship Match Set For SummerSlam

Roman versus Brock is finally set.

Eight nights ago at WWE's 'Extreme Rules' PPV Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley clashed in a singles match that resulted in the former two-time ECW Champion Bobby Lashley emerging victorious. Both Reigns and Lashley would go on to earn victories in qualifying matches to insert themselves into a #1 contenders match to determine who will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

That match took place in the main event of tonight's RAW as the two bulls went at it inside of the 'U.S. Bank Arena' in Cincinnati. Both Reigns and Lashley brought the fight to one another and it appeared that Lashley had "The Big Dog" reeling but from out of no where Reigns connected with a spear to secure the victory and his spot on the SummerSlam card as he will once again do battle with Brock Lesnar with a championship up for grabs.

At WrestleMania 31 Roman Reigns had the opportunity to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Brock Lesnar but Seth Rollins cashing in his Money In The Bank contract put that plan on hold. Reigns had another opportunity to one up Brock Lesnar at the 2017 SummerSlam PPV in a Fatal 4-Way but Brock ended up pinning Reigns to retain his WWE Universal Championship. This past April at WrestleMania 34 Brock Lesnar defeated Reigns in dominating fashion in the main event of the PPV to retain the title and a few weeks later at the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event Roman Reigns fell short to Brock once again.

At SummerSlam in four weeks Reigns will have yet another opportunity to dethrone "The Beast" and come August 19th it will either be success or failure for Roman Reigns.
