Adam Pearce makes it official.
On the December 16 episode of WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley announced that she was the new number one contender for Liv Morgan's WWE Women's World Championship. However, WWE did not announce the date for the match.
At the WWE Raw on Netflix Kickoff event on December 18, Rhea Ripley discussed her feud with Liv Morgan. They had a heated confrontation, and Adam Pearce confirmed that Ripley would challenge Morgan for the title at the WWE Raw on Netflix premiere on January 6. Ripley vowed to beat Morgan for the title as they stared each other down.

Morgan previously defended the title against Ripley at WWE SummerSlam and WWE Bad Blood. Ripley later won the Women's WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series by pinning Morgan. She also stared Morgan down after her match against IYO SKY at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
