Xia Li almost had a MMA fight while signed to NXT.
Xia Li (Xia Zhao) is set to make her MMA debut on August 3 when she takes on Xiomara Lee. Li is trained in the martial art of wushu.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Xia revealed she had a fight scheduled when she was signed to WWE, but had to cancel.
"I've wanted to fight for many years. Last time, I was in NXT. I almost got a fight, but they found out, so I had to cancel. I called my coach, 'When is the next fight?' 'August.' 'Okay, I'm in.' That was the first thing after I got released. I called my coach," she said.
Xia was released by WWE in April.
She is set to compete for West Coast Pro Wrestling on August 17.
