Young Bucks Clarify AEW Contract Status And Two Year Extension

The Young Bucks have clarified their contract extensions with AEW.

On November 26 it was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that the Young Bucks re-signed with AEW and the extension would keep them in the promotion until 2026. The Young Bucks later clarified that they would be staying in AEW until 2024 following their extension.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer issued another clarification, reporting the Young Bucks had a two-year option picked up.

On the December 6 episode of Being The Elite, The Young Bucks officially clarified their contract extension.

"We had last week off. If you go back one episode ago, I blogged about how burnt out I was. It's nice when you help run a company. You go, 'I need some time off,' I (get) some time off. 'I want a raise,' I give myself a raise. I want a two-year rollover, I get a two-year rollover," said Matt.

Nick added, "I don't know if that's true, but part of it is. TK still has to finalize all of that, but we did [re-sign] for two."

Finally, Matt clarified things by saying, "Really, we didn't re-anything, it was always a five-year deal, a three-year guarantee with a two-year rollover. The two-year rollover has been rolled over, so we are that much richer. We will be around this guy [Adam Cole], for at least two more years. It's good to be bad. I have a pep in my step and feel good about myself. I'm ready to come here and not wrestle and just do pre-tapes."

The Young Bucks are set to take on Chuck Taylor & Rocky Romero on Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
