Zack Clayton details his experience wrestling on AEW several weeks ago.
Clayton made his AEW debut on the June 9 edition of Dark, taking on QT Marshall. During the match, Taz, who was on commentary for the match, praised Clayton. In an interview with 411 Mania, Clayton talked about Taz putting him over on commentary.
"Yeah, Taz actually put me over pretty good. He said a lot of great things about me, which was good. Johnny Rodz, I went to him in Brooklyn for a few years, and that was a great time with him. So, it was good that Taz saw that and threw the mention him," Clayton said.
Clayton, like everyone who went to Daily's Place for AEW tapings for the past few weeks, had to undergo COVID-19 testing and a number of protocols before being given the green light to wrestle. Clayton spoke about whether or not he felt safe being in that environment during the pandemic.
"Absolutely. As soon as I got there, they don’t let you go to the venue until you get tested by them for COVID. So, absolutely. Everyone there was tested, and the safety protocol is very strong backstage. And it’s a very safe environment for sure," Clayton said.
