At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Orange Cassidy and Zack Sabre Jr. battled it out in a long-awaited dream match. The bout turned into a technical masterclass as the competitors went back and forth. Sabre Jr. utilized a variety of submission holds throughout the bout, but Cassidy held his own with the NJPW star.

Cassidy gained an advantage by targeting Sabre Jr.'s leg throughout the bout. But Sabre Jr. honed in on Cassidy's arm and weakened it with submission holds as well. In the end, Sabre Jr. trapped Cassidy in a modified arm-bar that left him with no choice but to tap out.

Sabre Jr. previously faced Cassidy in a four-way match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023, where Cassidy scored the win.
