From the moment the Young Bucks became the AEW tag Team Championship again, Zay was ready for Private Party to come full circle and bring home the gold in the process.
Zay and Quen, Private Party, became the AEW Tag Team Champions when they defeated Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson on AEW Fright Night Dynamite. The New York duo risked everything to have the moment where they could finally say that they were champions in AEW, five years after they defeated Matthew and Nicholas Jackson in their first meeting on AEW Dynamite.
Speaking on Chris Jericho's Talk is Jericho podcast, Zay says that as soon as he saw Matthew and Nicholas Jackson capture the AEW Tag Team Titles at AEW Dynasty, he was ready for the full circle moment.
"I knew when the Bucks won the championships, whenever they did, I knew in my head that it would be a perfect full circle moment if we beat the Bucks for the championships. When we first came, we beat the Bucks to advance in the tournament and nobody expected it. That was our breaking out moment. I was like, ‘It would be a Cinderella moment if we did it again, but this time actually win the AEW Tag Team Championships.’ I think it was a beautiful story we could have told. I’m glad the way we worked out. Even though it took five years, I feel like it worked out perfectly."
The Young Bucks are currently taking another hiatus after losing the championship belts. Meanwhile, Private Party have declared that they will be fighting Champions and they are getting ready to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championships at AEW Full Gear.
