Man fans were disappointed that Trish Straus vs. Becky Lynch is not happening at WWE SummerSlam, and instead will take place on the August 14 episode of WWE Raw.
While Stratus vs. Lynch was never announced for WWE SummerSlam, the rivalry had been building for months and SummerSlam seemed like the logical conclusion point given the stature of the two women.
Zoey Stark has had a front row seat for the rivalry as Trish's understudy, and she was asked by Stephanie Hypes of Ten Count for her thoughts on the bout not happening at WWE SummerSlam.
"Hunter [Triple H] is a smart man. There is a reason, guys. He's not just doing it to screw the women. He's not. He's doing it because he wants to make sure Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus have plenty of time to do it. I'm sure there are other reasons that come into play that we're not even thinking about. When we get the match, and we will, it will be great and we will have plenty of time and it's going to be a match well worth waiting for," she said.
Fightful Select reported "Those we spoke to said that on Summerslam, the match would have been severely limited by time, and the decision was made to put it on a future Raw instead."
Lynch is not in Detroit for WWE SummerSlam weekend.
