Zoey Stark has turned her back on Nikkita Lyons.
On the October 25 episode of NXT, Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark challenged Katana Chance and Kayden Carter for the gold. The challengers seemingly won the gold, but Chance wasn't the legal competitor when she was pinned. The match restarted, and the champions clinched the win.
Stark and Lyons had another shot at the gold on the November 8 episode, and they aimed to capitalize. The two teams threw everything they had at each other. Both duos showcased impressive chemistry, but in the end, Chance and Carter scored the victory. After the bell, Lyons and Stark handed the titles to the champions and seemingly showed their respect. But Stark surprised the WWE Universe by blindsiding Lyons with a title shot. She stood tall over her former partner as NXT faded to black.

Stark and Lyons have previously discussed their close bond on NXT TV. They were scheduled to compete in the tournament for the vacant WWE Women's Tag Team Championship earlier this year, but they were taken out of the bracket when Stark suffered an injury.
On the November 1 episode of NXT, Stark was clearly frustrated, and her inability to control her temper cost her a singles match against Indi Hartwell. Lyons at ringside, and she also played a role in the outcome by trying to offer Stark some advice moments before the defeat.
