A title change, a pair of returns, and two international tours highlighted the WWE and NXT live event schedule from this past week.
The big news came from NXT, where Shinsuke Nakamura made his return to his native Japan, defeating Samoa Joe in Osaka to regain the NXT Title. That match is expected to air tomorrow night on the latest episode of NXT. That NXT crew then embarked on its tour of Australia.
Meanwhile, Big Show and Emma both made their in-ring returns on Raw live events this weekend. Big Show then returned to TV Monday night on Raw, and Emma is slated to make her return after a lengthy absence next Monday. Raw held a pair of events in Mexico as part of a sojourn that also included events in the Southwest United States.
While WWE's Smackdown brand worked a reduced schedule this past week as it prepared for the TLC pay-per-view, both Raw and NXT went international. Smackdown did have to change the card for its event the night after TLC. An ankle injury left AJ Styles unable to compete, so The Miz defended his Intercontinental Title in a triple threat against both Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose.
