Chris Jericho Says It's Neville's Job To Make Enzo Look Good In The Ring

Chris Jericho is a fan of Enzo Amore moving to the 205 Live roster, and joining the current WWE Cruiserweight division. Y2J is a former WCW Cruiserweight Division, so his opinion carries a little extra weight here (no pun intended.)

In a new interview with Busted Open Radio, Jericho spoke highly of Enzo's "bulletproof" personality, and says he can bring a lot to the purple brand.

Grudge Match Added To Monday's WWE Raw

“He’s one of those guys that personality-wise he’s very bulletproof because he’s so over-the-top and he’s got such a good rap. But where else is he gonna go in the headlining position, in the heavyweight division on RAW? I think it was a great move because I don’t know what else you would do with him if you didn’t stick him in there unless he was just gonna be a manager or a commentator. He fits that (205 Live) vibe size-wise and more importantly he’s gonna bring eyeballs and attention, and people will actually pay attention to the matches that he’s in.”

205 Live has struggled to find a hook for viewership on the WWE Network, even though there have been several stellar matches--most of them involving the current Cruiserweight Champion Neville, one of the best wrestlers on the roster, regardless of size. Neville might be up against his greatest challenge in the ring; he must make Enzo Amore, a man who allegedly broke his own leg in NXT while trying to counter a wristlock, look like a credible wrestler.

Jericho says he's told Neville as much in the past; in cases such as this, it's up to the better worker to get the other guy over.

“I told Neville this months ago, I said, ‘There’s gonna come a time when you’re gonna have to make him look good, that’s the job of guys like you and me. It doesn't matter if he’s good. That’s not his responsibility, that’s yours now.’ Neville’s gonna have to do anything he can to make that match work the same way that all the great workers in time do that.”

It appears as though Enzo is being groomed as the next challenger to Neville's Cruiserweight Title.
