Thea Trinidad may have just gotten done playing AJ Lee in the Paige biopic, but that doesn't mean that her WWE screen time is coming to an end.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that learned that the ex-TNA Knockout (known as Rosita in TNA) has recently signed a WWE contract recently and will commence with training at the Performance Center.
She does have one NXT match under her belt already, having been squashed by Asuka last fall. In an interesting bit of trivia, this was right before Mickie James appeared on the TitanTron and challenged Asuka to the match at NXT Takeover Toronto.
Thea, who is currently in a relationship with top Cruiserweight contender Austin Aries, was recently spotted sitting ringside for an Andrade ‘Cien‘ Almas match at a recent NXT TV taping at Full Sail University.
This sparked rampant speculation that NXT was planning to pair Thea with Andrade, either as a manager or a valet, but when the match aired she wasn’t shown on camera.
PWS's report also states that Thea is just one of several recent WWE signees, including former TNA wrestler Gunner, German-Italian Cruiserweight Classic competitor Fabian Aichner, female independent stars Nixon Newell and Evie, and German wrestler Axel Dieter Jr.
