Jim Cornette and Santino Marella had a bit of an intense confrontation.
During a convention at the Cobo Center in Downtown Detroit, Marella faced off with Cornette. The conversation turned sour very quickly with Cornette criticizing Marella and then Cornette promptly called Marella a "motherf*cker" and said to "get the f-ck away from me." Cornette then tried to make a scene by telling the public that he is walking away from a fight that Marella is trying to start.
"Look at this guy. He's trying to start a fight with me and I'm trying to walk away from him," Cornette said.
An eyewitness told Dave Scherer of PWInsider.com that after the two faced off, Cornette packed up his stuff and left. Cornette left the convention and addressed the situation on Twitter.
Cornette was recently back in the wrestling spotlight when he appeared on Impact Wrestling several weeks back to address the situation regarding the then-vacant GFW World Championship that was taken by Alberto Del Rio. The two have had heat since an incident at Ohio Valley Wrestling over a decade ago that saw Cornette slap Marella.
Marella also recently made headlines when he wrestled his final match at a Destiny Wrestling show against Chavo Guerrero Jr. Marella also recently appeared on the fourth episode of Impact Wrestling's Global Forged series.
