Mick Foley Taking Time Off For Hip Replacement Surgery

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported over the weekend that Mick Foley would be taking the rest of the month off from WWE effective immediately.

According to their Sheet's sources, he was taking time off to spend with his family and do his Santa charity work and he wasn't scheduled to return to Raw until Monday, January 2nd. But then Foley appeared at Roadblock last night. When asked for comment, the WWE sent Pro Wrestling Sheet a statement saying, “Mick was in Pittsburgh (the site of Roadblock) for a previously scheduled charitable event and decided to work tonight. He will now work tomorrow and then take time off until Jan 2.”

Now Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the RAW General Manager will be undergoing hip replacement surgery, and this is the actual reason for his upcoming absence. Meltzer said Foley was originally supposed to have this weekend off, but was called in to do the appearance at Roadblock last night, where he almost threw in the towel for Sami Zayn in his match against Braun Strowman. Meltzer said that Foley was "in tremendous pain" and will be getting the surgery as soon as he can. The pain can be quite unbearable with all the traveling that he's been doing for Raw, and he requested time off to get the surgery done.
