Cage Warriors returns to action later this month with a three pack of events from September 24 to September 26 and they do so while making some history.

That’s because Cage Warriors has become the first MMA promotion in the United Kingdom to receive official government approval according to MMA Junkie.

This took place after the promotion, led by CEO Graham Boylan, applied to get there three events approved by the UK government due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. That approval “permits elite sportspersons taking part in government-specified events to be permitted exemptions to the standard self-isolation requirements upon their arrival in the U.K.” according to MMA Junkie.

The move also allows Cage Warriors to be on the list of approved events in the UK, which joins the previously approved boxing cards, Matchroom Snooker events and various gymnastics events. This is also a notable move, because unlike the United States, which has governing bodies to regulate MMA events, no such thing exists at this time in the United Kingdom.
