Casey O'Neill will look to impress UFC brass when she takes on a veteran in Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 271.
MMA Fighting reported (following an initial report from MMA Ideas) that the two will face off at the event taking place on February 12, 2022. As of now, there is no set destination and no main event has been announced for the event.
O'Neill, 24, made her MMA debut in 2019. Joining the UFC this year, O'Neill has won all three of her fights in the octagon. Her last bout was in October, beating Antonina Shevchenko via TKO.
Already ranked in the top fifteen of the UFC's flyweight rankings, O'Neill faces a former title contender in Modafferi. Making her debut in 2003, Modafferi has competed for Strikeforce, Invicta FC, and Ring of Combat. Modafferi competed on The Ultimate Fighter in 2017, losing to Nicco Montano in the finals for the UFC Flyweight Title.
In her last five fights, Modafferi is 2-3, her last bout a loss to Talia Santos back in September.
