Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor's Black Forge Inn pub in Dublin, Ireland was the target of an attempted bombing attack last night.
Dublin Live reported that McGregor was holding a menu tasting event inside of the pub on Wednesday night when two men on scooters reportedly threw petrol bombs at the Irishman's business. There were no damages done to the property and luckily nobody was injured in the attempted attack. A source told Dublin Live the following about the incident.
"There was two people allegedly spotted on scooters who passed the establishment at the time and next thing they were being chased by two others who had come out of the property. McGregor had been holding a taste testing menu in the pub so the alleged attackers may have assumed he was inside. Gardai (Irish police) are investigating an incident of attempted criminal damage at a licenced premises on the Drimnagh Road last night, Wednesday 12th January 2022. No damage was done to the premises. Gardai are appealing for witnesses in relation to this incident is asked to contact Gardai. Gardai are particularly keen for anyone with camera footage from the area overnight to make this available to them."
A rep for McGregor also provided TMZ Sports with the following statement regarding the incident. Dublin Police are currently seeking any information regarding the two suspects involved in the bombing attempt.
"No one was impacted, and the pub is open and busy as always."
