Cyborg Claims She Can Tap Floyd Mayweather

Retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather has been teasing a fight in the UFC ever since the boxing match with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor this past August.

UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg will never get the chance to battle Mayweather in the Octagon, but the female fighting sensation claims a tap out would go her way if the two ever fought.

“I would try my grappling for him,” Cyborg said to TMZ Sports. “First thing I would try is a double leg (before tapping him).”

Cyborg has also attempted to venture into the sport of professional boxing, as she has been granted a boxing license in the state of California.

The reason that Cyborg claims she could defeat Mayweather in the Octagon is because the Brazilian trains with a lot of men.

“When I am training with guys I learn a lot because they are stronger,” she said. “And some guys have a lot of techniques they can teach me and for sure improve my game.”

UFC 222 takes place on Saturday, March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
