Cyborg Says She Doesn't Want To Fight Amanda Nunes

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is the UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion and Amanda Nunes is the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, which means that two of the three women’s champions in the UFC are from Brazil.

When it comes to a potential super fight between both women, the women’s featherweight champion has no interest in such a battle.

"I’d fight Amanda, but I have no interest in fighting her,” Cyborg said at a recent media event in Brazil. "We’re two Brazilians, and that would ‘kill' one Brazilian. Why kill one if we’re representing the same country? It’s us against the world."

Nunes already has a fight scheduled at the moment, because she is facing Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event of UFC 215.

Cyborg does admit that if there is fan interest in the fight, then it could come to pass down the line.

"But if it’s an interesting fight for the fans, if they want this one day, we can do it,” Cyborg said. "It’s like ‘Claudinha’ (Gadelha) fighting Jessica (Andrade at UFC Japan). I don’t think it would be cool because we’re Brazilians, but I’d do it. I would avoid it, because Brazil vs Brazil is not cool, and I think fans would be split."

While Nunes has a fight booked at the moment, the women’s featherweight champion is currently on the sidelines awaiting for somebody to challenge her for the gold.
