Dana White Says Israel Adesanya Has "A Lot Of Options” For Next Fight

Israel Adesanya is coming off of a successful middleweight title defense at UFC 253 and according, to UFC President Dana White, there are a lot of options in front of the champion.

White lists such options as Jared Cannonier, Robert Whittaker, Jon Jones and more as possible options for Adesanya.

UFC 310 Predictions and Odds: Who Will Win the Fights?

“We’ve got to talk to him,” White said during a recent media scrum (via Mike Bohn & John Morgan of MMA Junkie). “That’s a fight we could definitely make. But I truly think that the winner of Cannonier and Whittaker should get the next shot. He said he would fight Cannonier. He already beat Whittaker. Whittaker, if he wins, makes a lot of sense, too. It’s a great problem to have. The winner of this fight should absolutely get the shot. You could look at the Blachowicz fight and say, ‘Oh, that’s fun, too.’ Jon Jones is fun. He’s got a lot of options.”

Adesanya did previously state that he would fight Cannonier next, assuming he defeats Whittaker first at UFC 254. The UFC President says its not a bad thing for Adesanya to have plenty of options ahead of him.

“It’s never a bad thing when you have a lot of options,” White said. “It would be worse if we were sitting here going, ‘Oh, who’s next?’ What do you do with this guy?'”
