The UFC is back in action this weekend with UFC 249, which is the first of three straight cards at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

UFC President Dana White expects to see both UFC cards and Contender Series events taking place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, starting on May 23.

“I’m shooting for the 23rd,” White said to Barstool Sports. “So we’ll do four fights in two weeks. Contender Series will happen too.”

Besides the UFC Apex and the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, another location for UFC cards is the much hyped “Fight Island.”

White says everything is going well with “Fight Island,” which should be ready to hold events by next month.

“Mid-June, if we could get all the infrastructure done by mid-June, I would love to do a fight that weekend that the place is completed. If not, we’ll look at the end of June. We were supposed to do a fight in Brazil, we got a fight that we were supposed to do in Kazakhstan, we got a fight that we were supposed to do in Perth, Australia, so all these fights would now move to ‘Fight Island,’” says White.

If the UFC Apex is ready to go by May 23, it means the upcoming UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns card will be the first official UFC event to be held there.
