Dana White Hints That Conor McGregor’s Next Bout Could Be On “Fight Island”

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor hasn’t competed since defeating Donald Cerrone by first round TKO in the main event of UFC 246.

There is no word at this time yet as to when McGregor will compete again, but that next bout could happen on “Fight Island.”

“Conor’s been ready to fight for a while,” UFC President Dana White said on The Jim Rome Show (via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “He’s in shape. He’s ready to go. First of all, ‘Fight Island’ is going to be very important in any of these fights that are happening with people from outside the country. It kills me to do a fight with Conor without fans. Kills me. This guy’s doing almost $20 million gates.”

“Fight Island” is expected to be ready to hold events this June, but no cards have been announced for that location at this time. McGregor has been keeping busy outside of the Octagon since his last fight, as the fighter has been delivering PPE supplies to hospitals around Ireland as the country battles the coronavirus pandemic.
