Dana White Says The Welterweight Division Will Move On Without Tyron Woodley

UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley was last seen in action in the main event of UFC 228, defeating Darren Till by second round submission.

The champion has been out of action since due to surgery from injuries suffered in that bout against Till, but UFC President Dana White says the division is ready to move on with Woodley.

“Tell me when Woodley does want to fight. This is always an issue with Woodley. We’re going to move on,” White told TSN. “That division is stacked, we’ve got a lot of good talent.”

While Woodley has been out of action for just three months, UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington has been out of action since UFC 225, which took place nearly six months ago.

White even claims that the division could move on with interim title bouts if Woodley isn’t ready to go soon.

“Whether Woodley fights or not, we’ll end up making a fight with some of the best guys in the division,” he said. “Could be (an interim title),” Says White.

Woodley has defended the title four times since winning it at UFC 201, fighting Stephen Thompson (twice), Demian Maia and the aforementioned Till.
