Ever since former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey was soundly defeated by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, people of all kinds have been offering advice to the former champion. One of those offering advice is former MMA fighter Gina Carano, which UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier doesn’t like too much.
“She can’t really advise Ronda in terms of fighting, because when it got tough, she left. It’s not in my character to walk away when things get tough, so I’m saying, why does that opinion matter? We don’t want Ronda to do what you did, because you left!,” Cormier said to TMZ.
Cormier was a fan of Carano during her fighting days and he still hopes a come back is down the line for the fighter turned movie star.
“That’s the Gina Carano I tuned in to watch—the fiery Gina Carano, the girl that’s showing some gumption. Maybe I’ll piss her off enough that she goes, ‘You know what, I’m gonna go and fight again and prove that I didn’t run away from the sport.’,” said Cormier.
UFC 210 takes place on Saturday, April 8 from the Key Bank Center in Buffalo, New York with Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson headlining.
